“I’m Easy”- Academy Award, Best Song 1975, from Robert Altman’s masterpiece “Nashville”. The recording on the Soundtrack album on ABC was produced by Richard Baskin. ABC Records didn't feel the song had any airplay potential. David Geffen, then president of Asylum Records, saw a screening of the film in NY and called me. He asked if I wanted to record with his company. The Asylum recording was produced by John Guerin. That recording was broken by a radio station in Buffalo, NY. The record made the Billboard National Top Ten.This version was recorded live at Joe’s Pub in New York City in December 2006.
